Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between bridal and regular makeup?

The bride is the queen of the day, hence bridal makeup will take more time to apply to ensure the makeup stays longer and is more durable throughout the day. I put a lot more attention on skin preparation. Conditioning the skin is essential to create the best look for your special day. Eye makeup is the most important part of the process; therefore, I focused on the eyes. The makeup brands I use for bridal makeup are more elevated and the top-line in quality.

Regular makeup will give you a regular admiring look. It's more suitable for other simple occasions or for wedding guests.

What makeup brands does Manda Makeover use?

I use multiple brands such as Chanel, Urban Decay, YSL, MAC, Charlotte Tilbury, Estee Lauder, Make Up For Ever, Hourglass, Shu Uemura, Marc Jacobs, Lancome, IL Makiage, and Beauty Blender.

What are your health and safety guidelines regarding COVID-19?

I am fully vaccinated and require all my clients to show proof of vaccination. To prevent Covid-19 from spreading, all the tools, brushes, and makeup are sanitized between each client. I wear a mask all the time and frequently wash my hands during the session.

Do you travel to me and to the wedding? If so, what do you charge for travel?

I provide home service and travel to my client's preferred location, with an additional fee of $30 for the first 5 miles from Manda Makeover Studio with $2.5 per mile afterward. The travel fee is the downpayment for on-site service.

What do I need to do before getting my makeup and hair done?

Healthy skin is crucial for providing the right canvas for applying makeup. Moisturize your skin every day and avoid using facial cleansers with any drying ingredients, such as sodium lauryl sulfate.

Most textures and types of hair will hold in an updo much better if the hair is washed on the day before.

Should I send my makeup and hair preferences to you?

Yes! It would be great to know my client's expectations and understand their style preferences ahead of time. You can send me the pictures via text or email.
The best is to find pictures of models who have similar features as yours, such as skin tone, eye shape, and hair color.

How long does it take to get the makeover done?

Bridal makeup and hair= up to 3 hours.

Bridal makeup= up to 2 hours

Bridal hairdo= up to 1 hour

Regular makeup and hair= up to 2 hours

Regular makeup= up to 1 hour

Regular hairdo= 45 minutes

I encourage my clients to prepare extra time to get ready and for unexpected situations to avoid stress due to time constrain.

What should I expect after having my makeup and hair done?

Makeup lasts longer in cooler and dry weather. I use a setting spray to make the makeup last longer. However, the only way to preserve the makeup for oily skin is by touching it up with a sponge and powder. Ask me for a touch-up kit if you have concerns with oily skin.

Also, avoid touching your hair and face to keep the makeup stays on.

Is there any discount on booking an appointment for multiple people?

The amount of time and effort in doing a makeover is the same for each person, hence I don't offer any discount for multiple people on the same appointment.

What is the process to book an appointment for your service?

There's a $10 booking fee to secure an appointment at Manda Makeover Studio.
For onsite appointments, the travel fee will act as a downpayment.
The downpayment can be made through Venmo or Zelle.
To book an appointment, please text me at (925) 381-0425.

What is the best way to contact you if I have any more questions or to book you?
